In reaction to an increased housing need and reduced demand for carbon producing modes of transport, our clients approached us to prepare designs for their existing service station site in South West London. Following several conceptual development meetings and a pre-application meeting with the local authority a robust site development strategy was prepared. Our strategy aimed to wrap the site perimeter, utilising the full potential of the length and width of the site boundary. To comply with current policy, an underground car park was proposed taking advantaged of the existing fuel storage tank removal. This allowed for the inclusion of a generous internal communal amenity garden and play spaces.
