Harpenden House is a unique stand alone Victorian property near Harpenden Town centre which required modernisation and conversion for a young growing family. Our clients approached us to rationalise the internal layouts and interiors and extend the ground floor to create a large kitchen and dining space. We proposed that the original features of the house be restored and its character celebrated. A modern link would connect the original home with a new stand alone kitchen structure to be designed in a modern industrial aesthetic creating an intimate internal courtyard between the old and new elements.
